The international online workshop Biotechnology for Doctoral and Prospective Doctoral Candidates is the second event of the SIEtStartHub (KEGA 049SPU-4/2025) project, which connects universities, research centers, and experts from Europe and around the world with the aim of strengthening innovation capacity and excellence in biotechnology through the knowledge triangle – education, research, and innovation.
The workshop offers a space for doctoral and future doctoral candidates who are interested in current biotechnological challenges in the fields of food, health, reproductive technologies, and the environment.
The main topics include:

bioactive natural compounds and their role in food systems,

biotechnological tools for food quality control,

3D cell cultures and modern in vitro research,

environmental mutagens and biotechnological strategies for health protection,

connecting research with practice and building the innovation platform BioTech Hub.
The workshop is led by experts from partner universities in Italy, Spain, India, Estonia, Mexico, and the Czech Republic, with the introduction and final discussion led by Assoc. Prof. Adriana Kolesárová from the AgroBioTech Research Center and the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences at SUA in Nitra.
The event is supported by the project KEGA 049SPU-4/2025 – Strengthening Innovation Capabilities and Excellence in Biotechnology through the Knowledge Triangle and StartHub (SIEtStartHub).
